The Lord has taken us on a major journey with Him, from the Mount of Transfiguration where was given a glimpse to the three disciples concerning His Mission and His Identity. We have charted through the journey in Jerusalem, Bethany and Golgotha. We have seen how He prepared His disciples for the greatest phase of His restoration in the Earth. This for me has been a journey of discovery beyond what I could have imagined when I started this series. We are steadily coming to its conclusion, and this will be adapted to being a book. It will be adapted as being a permanent memory.
Here the Lord wants to take us deeper into what being the Root and Offspring means. It has a present reality, and an eternal one. Why is this Root and Offspring connected to David? We must answer these questions and see how they be triggers to Jesus’ return. This concept is key to unleashing the type of power of the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11.
One thing we need to understand concerning this Root and Offspring, concerning David. David flowed in the offices simultaneously of King, Priest and Prophet. This would be the model for Jesus and His Church. This speaks to being the Offspring concerning what would flow from David down the genealogical line to Jesus, the Son of David. We focus on Jesus being the Son of God, but I believe the key to the end times is Jesus the Son of David. Isaiah 22 talks about the key of David opening what men cannot close, closing what men cannot open. It is this key that travels down to Jesus, the line of Zadok, the order of Melchizedek. When we come to Revelation 1, we see the kingly revealed before the priestly. Yet the Church in the modern day has inverted the order. Majoring on the High Priestly ministry of Jesus and His Church.
This inverting the order through spiritual ignorance and heresy is the enemy trying to delay the coming of Jesus. However, the Root of David found in Isaiah 11, tells us of something I got understanding when I first came to the UK to live, in 2011. I saw that the Tree of Jesse was made a stump. Something was cut, it was made a stump. I was made to understand that in Jesse, from his sons the chosen was the insignificant youngest son. The order was broken. The house of Judah was going to move into its true role, the leader of the house, the King, would raise the sceptre, and it was not just a tribe of praise but become a royal house where the kingly, priestly and prophetic would run together in the same tribe. These same streams must be activated by He who was the Root and is now the Offspring.
For anything, be it revelation, prophecy, inspiration, gifting and ministry has to have these two realities, the manifestation of being the Root, that is connecting with it being the origin, in God and in His Son, and also be manifest in fruit as the Offspring. The character of it being consistent throughout all seasons. There is a verse in Isaiah 11 that alludes to the Root, “He shall not be influenced by the sight of His eyes, nor the hearing of His ears…” meaning that what takes precedence is not physical senses but spiritual living. The fruit of any revelation, or any manifestation of any ministry must have the fruit of the character of the Offspring of David, preparing the way for the full manifestation of the Kingdom and its Throne.
It is all Jesus and nothing of us. That is why its the Root, the origin, the Offspring, the apparent present reality. And all ministration in the Body of Christ must be discerned or discarded with this pattern. It is our yardstick. And as we see the Church become the embodiment of this dimension we know the physical coming of Jesus comes closer.
If anything we need to pray and walk toward is to understand the Root and Offspring, what it means for us, that the origins of all things Godly is already in existent in Christ. And what is being manifested through the Spirit in His Church is Jesus manifest as the Offspring. This way, once we are intimately acquainted, we will be protected by the end time delusions that come upon the earth in the end days.
And once we see Him manifest in our midst as the Son of David, we know the end of this reality is at hand. It is the Kingly fully manifest bringing order, the priestly fully manifest bringing healing, and the prophetic fully manifest bringing holy consciousness.
May we today meditate on the Jesus, in us, becoming the Root and Offspring, being the originator of all things holy in our hearts, manifesting His Ministry through us as the Offspring.
