When Sin becomes spiritual

The Book of Enoch and Jude speaks of the angels who lost their estate. How can you interpret this? You interpret it this way…

Beings who were once perfect became spiritually corrupt and became full of corruption. Their whole existence is to corrupt and twist that which was pure to be corrupt as they are. 

Hence the need for judgment.

I have meditated on this a lot over the last 3 years. When sin becomes a lifestyle, when it becomes a mentality, it becomes also spiritual. 

How? Because this is the role of demonic entities. When we habitually sin, and do not confess, when our behaviour and posture in this life becomes so accommodating of that root sin, which is pride, those demons will possess the spirit man so that it becomes so full of corruption as those first perfect beings that fell and lost their estate.

Jude 6-7
6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

2 And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: ‘Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.’
3 And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them: ‘I fear ye will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.’
4 And they all answered him and said: ‘Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.’
5 Then sware they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.
6 And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.

Compare what the two say. Enoch is specific but also Jude explains and makes comparison with Sodom and Gomorrah. Is Jude saying that the fall of their abode occurred at the time of Sodom’s fall? No, but it is obvious from the Genesis account that the Sodomites were accustomed to joining with angels. When we are talking about angels, we are not talking any more about Cherubim and Seraphim. We are talking of those who fell from “their estate”. This means they fell from heaven losing all the glory they were clothed with. When you imagine it, it was a cataclysmic event. Perfection becoming imperfect. It is beyond the imagination and comprehension of us mere mortals.

Sin was spiritual because they were and are spiritual beings. And they lead us the same way. That is why the world and its visible and invisible enemies work towards the culmination of all ages to confront the angels and Church of the Light. And the Lord Himself.

When the propagation of spiritual sin takes place you can be certain that God is coming in judgment to prevent global corruption of even the Elect.

What are the signs?

1. Deception and forbidden knowledge. 

2. The joining of sinful practices with spiritual activity

3. The focus on sexuality in spiritual activities

4. The production of corrupted seed and spiritual realities. 

This language may seem to you extra-Biblical…however Jesus warned that the days of His Return would be similar to the days of Noah. Enoch saw and knew Noah, even sent him messages. However he was taken, translated.

So what is the message here?

These are days to remain in hours and hours of prayer and worship. They are days to be in constant communion with God. They are days to love your fellow man. But remain close to the Lord, so that what you birth in the Spirit is pure and holy. For the time comes when God will separate the goats from the sheep.

There are those who seem so “spiritual” yet embark of a life in the flesh. These have the seed of these fallen ones, and they are condemned to darkness.

Today is a day to focus on His Holiness and Glory, to live out in faith. In that place of Holiness we come into His Love because we have access by faith through grace into that place. It is time to study the Word.

One thing that has occured to me today is that our lives are changing so much faster, that we are caught unawares by the implications of our words and actions. We can be stood firm, but for a word badly placed, we can enter a hurricane of scandal and offence. So it is time to hide in Him.
