[19] Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; [20] and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

I see the End Times get under way from the Day of Pentecost. Peter mentions in that mega revelation immersed message that Jesus was invited to sit at the Right Hand by the Ancient of Days. Peter mentions with great depth in Acts 2 that David being in a momentary realm of spiritual displacement from his earthly surroundings and taken to a place where he heard God the Father invite the Son to sit at His Right Hand UNTIL the enemy was under His feet. So in a sense phase 1 was under way to transition all things from earthly to heavenly starting with the Church, filled with the Holy Spirit, making all that Jesus is known unto all.
Jesus was already sent
It seems all but contradictory that this same Jesus who had come, lived amongst us, ascended, is now being sent again. The traditions being broadcast about a new coming of Jesus ties up with the wrapping up this earth, and the heavens also being rolled up like a scroll to be substituted by a new reality, the old burned into non existence.
It seems our “tradition” blinds us that Jesus was going to be sent in each generation. In the person of the Holy Spirit. The Day of Pentecost was the start of a process by which the Kingdom of Darkness would be subdued under the Feet of Jesus. It passes and is predicated upon the sending of Jesus TO the Church.
Is it not therefore logical to interpret the divisions and scandals of the modern day Church a plan from Satan to stop Jesus coming TO the Church with refreshing and restoration be a master plan? It is. It means until Jesus physically appears we are to expect Jesus to be SENT to us via His Spirit.
When Kairos is a key
“Times of refreshing”
Two words in the Greek have the meaning of time. Kronos and Kairos. The word here is kairos meaning a season of refreshing and restoration entered into when conditions are met. Has no set beginning nor set ending. Always conditional upon the human heart and Jesus’ eternal programme.
It must therefore be incumbent upon a said generation to find out the conditions.
No story with this significance is speaking into this more clearly than that of David trying to bring into Jerusalem, the Ark of the Covenant. The first attempt being altogether reckless paying no regard to Scripture about how the Ark was to be transported. It seems the intention outweighs the method. And that is something that today’s church falls into.
The Scriptures were explicit in the way the Ark was to be transported. David had not thought to research it out. The end result was stumbling and a death. And David fears the Lord. He is determined to bring the Ark to Jerusalem and the intentions are not enough. God pays attention to the method. The 2nd attempt successfully executed and blessings all round.
Kairos is the method by which restoration and refreshing comes and by which the end time purposes are worked out. The modernistic tendency to elevate intention over method is disastrous.
We must acquire the discernment needed to know how to fulfil the requirements, once we fall into line so Jesus can come TO the Church.
The Presence of the Lord
One day I was made to understand that the Presence of the Lord is a constant. He is in the midst of His People. Its an expression of His Faithfulness. However from that same Presence comes to us something different, specific and purposeful. So we need to live expectantly that the Presence we live by will send to us something or Someone who will put into action in our spiritual and geographical location something that constructs the Highway of Holiness to eternity. The Scripture goes on;
Acts 3:21 KJV
[21] whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

The times of restitution are not kairos times, but Kronos times, set in dates and years. The kairos refreshings, visitations of Jesus TO the Church get us ready for Jesus to come FOR the Church. So the end times has to do with a process of the righteous. It is the righteous who must discern and cooperate with it.
When we teach End Times we sometimes focus TOO much what the devil is doing. The Antichrist, Beast and false prophet, an unholy trinity if you will. What is God doing? What is the Church doing.
We will continue to examine this as a conclusion to this series. We must face the Jesus who tread the road of humiliation and suffering and now qualifies to sit at the Right Hand. We need to understand that because there is a personal application to that reality. In that we too will sit WITH Him according to Paul in the letter to the Ephesians. It means that I must discern the Kairos and embrace the methods, so that when the specific day comes I may be in the right place in that Kronos Day.
