The Road to the Right Hand 12; “I go to my Father”

Ascension

John 20:17 KJV
[17] Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

The above verse hides from us something quite extraordinary. It is a lesson we all need to learn whilst studying this journey to the Right Hand of the Father.

The lesson is transition. I have talked to people that I teach about transition and the importance and urgency of managing and completing this process. What we see Jesus say to Mary is that she is not to embrace the idea that Jesus was continuing what He was doing before the crucifixion. He has here declared there is a transition declared, His destination is the Right Hand of the Father and He must complete a 40 day process.

Transition is a process forever moving toward completion where things are completed and fulfilled. For Jesus it was to prepare His Disciples to believe that His going away was making and is making way for something greater. Right now they have regained Jesus physically again, but Jesus has to impart to them new and higher, or rather, heavenly ways of living.

It was not the founding of a earthly Kingdom,  nor a continuation of what He was doing and teaching before. It was a heavenly Kingdom moved in through the vehicle known as the Church.

I believe that transition when it is discerned or a kairos is perceived we must learn not to hang onto earthly things for security. The transition is taking us ever heavenward and towards eternity. The DNA and building blocks of this are not in earthly institutions or causes. Our thinking needs an interaction with the Holy Spirit.

When we build “things ” on the earth we are in a sense to want to hang onto Jesus in the way we understand Him. He will take the Disciples in a 40 day intensive to perceive the changes. Their greatest gain is letting go of Jesus’ physical presence and embracing Him spiritually.

It is this in a certain way we do in the modern Church. We hang onto the Gospel teachings and neglect the revelation of what He is doing now. His role and His purpose in and through His people.

There is a shaking going on and a every more intense scrutiny with so called ministries that have built their ministry on Gospel Jesus. They have yet to face Him as Exalted Lord and the submission to His firey eyes that penetrate the motivations of our inner man.

Letting go sets the Disciples on a path to something greater.

What do we need to let go of? If we resist this then maybe that which we hang onto is taken away by the winds of change on the earth. Our living is not bound by earthly attachments but connected to the Throne via the Holy Spirit.

We have that choice. Jesus will walk us through it.

Maranatha!!!
