He has risen…ascended and is glorified.

The question of the angels striking as it is shows a many layered enquiry. We celebrate the culmination of Easter week with Resurrection Day. The joy of it. The joy that the Light that shone in that tomb was much much brighter than our sun. He that descended was now in a transition of ascending.
Yet in some places, in some countries they are still searching for the living among the dead, in dead traditions of men, of godliness without power.
Its a powerful question because it causes us to evaluate whether we are living our faith in a graveyard. Whether what we profess is no more than dead works and dead platitudes.
It also yet demonstrates that they did not hear Jesus truly. He promised to rise again. Even the Romans sealed up the tomb on the strong fears of the Jews who remembered His Words. How is it that His closest seemed slow and uncomprehending? Maybe their dreams and aspirations were shattered on Golgotha’s Hill.
It seems in our charting of this spiritual journey we come back to really hearing Jesus. In detail. Comprehending the implications of what He says. When we hear Jesus through filters of our own understanding and agenda we too will be in a place of disbelief when the women came back with the report that the tomb was empty. Luke 24 charts this disbelief and I wrote a series 2 years ago which turned into a book. Look in our Store. The whole company of disciples did not believe, maybe with the exception of John.
Luke 24:1-8 KJV
[1] Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. [2] And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. [3] And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. [4] And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: [5] and as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? [6] He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, [7] saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. [8] And they remembered his words,

The angels in the passage make them remember His Words. May God make us remember His Word and how His Promises will come to pass.
“He is not here“. Emphatic in that He is now risen, into a Risen body, with 40 days transition to His Ascension. How many places is Jesus not there? How many of our days is He not here with us?
The post resurrection period was to construct the true purpose of His mission. He had come to implant on the earth a spiritual Kingdom with an eternal King. They would need a encounter twice with the Holy Spirit, one where Jesus breathed on them, the other the Day of Pentecost.
May we this Easter Day remember these things.
Maranatha!!!
