The Road to the Right Hand 9; the forgotten day

Ephesians 4 tells us that before to ascend Jesus had to descend first. The descending Christ went to Hades where the old saints were. Many debate whether this literally happened or whether this was symbolic. It seems logical that Jesus would walk the same path as men would not having the covering of covenant. He had to share in our lost state in eternity.

It is said He preached the Good News to the Old Saints of Abraham’s covenant. A covenant passed down the generations through being descendents of Abraham.

The Great Sabbath charts these after death events and it seems in the Church calendar somewhat between the commemorations of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Somewhat of a gap between the two. Yet forgotten, but the work done in Hades is key to taking the keys of Hades and Death as recounted in Revelation 1. His work now is not merely suffering as much as atoning.

So what is mostly forgotten is as important as the other two days. May we reflect on this work in Hades and know Jesus made the way to heaven that we may enjoy a joyful eternity.

Maranatha!!!
