The Journey to the Right Hand 5; two distinct visitations to the Temple

Mark tells us in chapter 11 about two distinct visitations of Jesus to the Temple. The first being to observe and return to Bethany.

The following day Jesus observes a fig tree. Many do not know the characteristics of the Fig tree. When the season is going to be full of fruit there are few leaves. When there is going to be a bad year for figs the leaves abound. Jesus saw it was full of leaves and cursed it. It withers from the roots upward.

It struck me similar to Jesus’ rebuke to the Church in Ephesus where He threatens to take away the Lampstand. Either way the Fig Tree dies and the Church in Ephesus no longer exists.

Jesus is demonstrating the spiritual life of the Temple and the nation. Full of show but no fruit.

The day after Jesus visits the Temple again and this time expels the merchants from the Temple Court. With zeal He expels the objects of Mammon from His Father’s House.

Isn’t it ironic for many years we have seen Jesus come just to observe and then come to expel. This is also an end time work when with zeal He shall divide between the sheep and the goats. The space between these 2 comings is a word called Grace. We are in between but very soon the judgments from the White Throne will become the overall agenda.

Throne

The Cross and all the work of His Earthly Mission is with one objective,  to save mankind. The judgments are to establish His Kingdom and His Throne. All this process is important to understand and embrace. Our destiny is to dwell with Him.

Jesus will expel those who make merchandise of His Word. He is zealous for His House. Let us not fall foul of His Judgments.

Maranatha!!!
