Birthing a New Advent 3: when a troubled king is about to die and be removed

Herod a king marked for deception and murderous intentions that when he heard a King was about to be born, he set about to search out and kill. He wanted to hang onto power. He was a vassal of the Roman Empire. He was not of Jewish blood nor was he of the Davidic line that would have given him legitimacy.

Legitimacy is lacking even today in corridors of power. The pure blood does not flow in their veins.

A troubled mind belays the consciousness that at any moment the Throne would be contested.

In our series here we see that the focus is to learn the lessons of the original Advent and prophetically discern the times.

What precedes a takeover, a imposing empirical power is the weakness of kings and governments that preceded this subjugation before Rome would enact a bloodless takeover. It would be almost bloodless because true strong leadership would have fought.

How this seems familiar in that Rome rode into Jerusalem and put down every uprising and imposed its rule. This rule would persist until the Empire embraced Christ and it’s political legitimacy crumbled.

In the case of Herod the generation of new borns lost their lives as he sought for the true King. We do not read of many more years after this that he passes away and the angel warns Joseph that Jesus can return as those who sought His life were gone.

Follow the Morningstar to Christ

There will be a season when they will “seek your life” but it will be a short season. God fulfilled prophecy when He took His Son to Egypt. It was transitional. God had to deal with Herod.

How many kings and governors have affronted the Lord? Psalm 2 addresses this raging. Who do governments and kings rage against? Against the Anointed One and His Anointed Ones.

Psalm 2 deals with the Father manifesting the power, authority and glory of the Throne. He shall rule with a rod of iron and smash their thrones and platforms and as the Herods “seek Him out” so He shall seek them out.

This new advent to come is not about receiving a babe but welcoming the King of Glory. Lift up the Everlasting doors.

When you have tyrants and frauds in the corridors of power who blatantly kill the innocent you know God is about to deal with them.

We may have to go down to Egypt figuratively but it is so that God will deal with our enemies. We are hidden by angels.

Watch that a new Advent is birthed to establish a true Throne, a true Kingdom. We are in that process. Let not the world’s version colour your meditation and quiet reflection at this time!
