And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 5 And they said unto him, In Beth-lehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 6 And thou Beth-lehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. 7
The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version. (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009), Mt 2:4–7.
We are coming to the end of this Christmas series. It has been of particular blessing. Today we examine the above Scripture. The Scribes were involved with the Scriptures everyday.

Tragically they knew where Jesus, the Messiah, would be born, which is Biblical Knowledge. They however had no consciousness about the when, which denotes divine revelation. Right now we need to examine this because this means the difference being with Jesus, when He appears, and being excluded. The tragic thing about the Scribes is that they were not immersed in the revelation knowledge of the ways of God. To know the “when”, which in this case is Kronos, physical time, backed up with those who walked with the Spirit, as in the case of Simeon, Luke 2, were those who knew not only the where but also the when.
There is a plethora of Biblical knowledge available, but it does not guarantee you revelation knowledge. We must see that revelation knowledge is not sought after or sought out through study. It is something that comes WITH walking with God. Zechariah 4 talks of those acquainted with the golden oil, the presence and power of the Spirit, as being Sons of Oil. This is a relational term, being “sons”, as something was birthed in that they became sons. Right now the Church needs to wake up to this, as many are being deceived by Biblical Knowledge, because they mistake it for Biblical Revelation.
In the Tabernacle it was not enough to have the Table of Shewbread, there had to be a Lampstand.

Matthew 25 also presents the necessity of having both the lamp and the oil. These represent the Word and the Anointing of the Spirit, which is expressed by Biblical Revelation. This Biblical Revelation when it comes to us imparts to our intimate inner man the knowledge of God’s ways. It is the only way can we see Jesus, be with Jesus in the various forms He cares to visit us.
The wise men SAW the sign, SOUGHT the meaning of the sign, followed it on a journey of faith. The Lord is providing signs of His return. Have we seen? Have we sought the meaning of His signs? This will present to us doorways in the spiritual. Where we see that location is not overall important, but the time, the season.
The attitude we have to being in His presence also is key, as we saw in the last message. They were to “bow” seeing beyond the small baby to see a Glorious King.

Let us go from this season seeking His ways, not content having Knowledge but knowing Him through the revelation He gives us as we relate to Him day by day. That way in obscure places we shall be ushered into His Royal presence, whilst religious arguments carry on, and whilst the world carries on trying to win the argument and gain the attention.
This series has been about the “hidden” things of Christmas, because it is not in the obvious or the traditional we gain a knowledge of His ways. It is recognize His signs, recognize His Spirit, recognize His Ways.
