New Series! The Purposes of God

There will be one more message to conclude the Coming of the Lord series and then to tie in is the Purposes of God. What is needed more than ever is an understanding from the Word what is God purposing for our generation, our nation, our Church, our family. In this context we can tie in our understanding of the End Times . Once we grow into this greater understanding we come into a greater capacity to flow in those purposes seeing our lives gain a greater effectiveness of service and gifting. If we believe those purposes are exterior to … Continue reading New Series! The Purposes of God

By the River Chebar

Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God: Ezekiel 1:1 KJV  Some time ago at Downside Abbey I was in this chapter and verse. I could not get away from it, as God caused me to get an overview of the Captivity. On the front window above there is Christ Glorified holding His Word. I was meditating in a time, a intimate one on one with … Continue reading By the River Chebar

The Wedding at Cana: Part 2 My hour has not yet come…

This is the second part of our new series. The study of Jesus’ first miracle is indicative of the way that Jesus operates in our lives. We must take note of the pillar principles in the story. The first thing we note in the narrative and John makes a point: Mary the mother of Jesus was there… Mary would be a key person in the miracle. She knows who Jesus is, and what He will do. This is because wherever Jesus is, when there is a crisis He comes with His Solution. The first thing we see is Mary alert Jesus as to … Continue reading The Wedding at Cana: Part 2 My hour has not yet come…

Price of Transition: change of leadership

2 Samuel 6 We see that in one day a leadership generation is replaced. Saul is replaced with David, albeit not so soon. What happened in any transition is that disillusionment comes in, rejecting a form of leadership. We must change pace. David desires the Ark, desires the Presence of God. But his attempt took the life of one man. There was stumbling. We need to examine some parrallels. A. David tried to bring the Presence of God without looking into the Word. B. David tried to bring the Presence as with the same methodology as the ignorant. C. David … Continue reading Price of Transition: change of leadership

Enduring a Cross and Despising Shame

I am on a business trip right now. But even in the midst of all that seems to us to be “secular” God comes in to speak to us. He comes with clarity. Could it be that in the context of not striving we may be caught unawares and be able to hear more clearly? A question that some of you could answer for me. The Lord brought me clearly to Hebrews 12. I believe that ENDURING and DESPISING are keys that bring us into the fullness of our calling. When we can ENDURE, we can QUALIFY to sit in … Continue reading Enduring a Cross and Despising Shame

The True Prophetic

I was meditating on what is the prophet, looking at some Biblical examples. The one that shone out to me was the one Jesus says is the greatest. John the Baptist is not the profile of the prophet of our day. He is not readily prophesying over the people, he is not given to visions, or strange things. He simply baptised the people in the Jordan. Yet Jesus Himself calls him the greatest. What made Jesus value him so much? What we know prophetically, John came in the power of the Spirit of Elijah. This is a demarcation from all … Continue reading The True Prophetic

He believed in hope against all hope

In the second world war, it is a known fact that in the beginning the war was going badly for the Allies. Britain had been pounded in 1940, what was known as the battle of Britain. They were very depressing times. Little is known, but one man, Rees Howell, had been given the burden by the Lord that he should intercede for Britain in the darkest hours. He recites his experiences in his book ” The Intercessor.” The many days the weight of the spiritual battle that was on his shoulders in the dark days, when there seemed no hope. … Continue reading He believed in hope against all hope
