The Road to Emmaus – A spiritual Journey Part 3: when eyes SHOULD be closed

The last message treated the purpose why the 2 disciples were kept from recognising Jesus, and what that did in the whole process of elevating their vision. In this message I had meditated all this day about the benefit of the senses being held in suspension. This will we explore in this message.

Uncertainty generates controversy based on the lack of evidence and data. They were entirely thrown by Jesus’ crucifixion that any perspective based on what they saw and heard is unhelpful when Jesus Himself is bringing a correction. The whole explanation of Jesus’ mission by the prophet Isaiah has gone largely unnoticed. Even today the Book of Isaiah is not fully understood. It is a prophetic roadmap of the New Covenant. We need to contextualise the Word.

In a time of uncertainty theories abound and Jesus initiated a process by which the mind and spirit is engaged in a spiritual process. It was necessary to prevent certain faculties from functioning so spiritual ones would and transition them into a new place of perceiving Jesus mission in a heavenly perspective. Different theories based through filters of supposition, fear and ambitions are not to enter this process.

We verify a similar atmosphere in the world since the pandemic. There are many many theories abounding concerning its origins, the objectives, and the objects of which this was to have. What is certain is that Western civilisation seems to be emptying out of virtues and embracing vices. IN this period the Church needs to have its natural faculties suspended for when Jesus brings a fresh desire for His Word, and He is revealed as He is, then we can walk out of devastation having discovered its eternal purpose.

We need to walk from the conspiracies of the last 4 years, not embracing every wind of doctrine and “prophetic information” that is so prevalent today, interpreting world events from what appears to the senses, but that we go into the Word and the Spirit to understand the agenda the Father has, which is bring to fulness the manifestation of the Kingdom and the appearence of its King.
