Easter Series 8: Sunday, He is risen

“Why do you seek the living in amongst the dead?”

Great question from the angels, in Luke 24. And yet we do this with our lifeless religion. I write this at 3am because I was not aware that the hour had advanced. Yet it seems fitting that the resurrection of Christ would happen at this hour. The specialists studying the Turin Shroud say that the light that shone in that burial cloth was about 34 trillion watts of light.

What light comes as Isaiah prophesied “Arise shine for your light has come ” such prophetic words come from the Father to raise up the Son, as the plan of salvation , as we see the next chapters of Jesus’ life in the form of our new pathway too:

  1. Crucifixion: our justification
  2. Resurrection: our sanctification
  3. Ascension: our glorification

So we see our pathway prophetically earmarked. We celebrate today our complete salvation through our Saviour, and we come into a life submitted to Him as our Lord and King!

The graveclothes were folded by Him to show that He stepped out purposely out of that tomb. It was early dawn. He stepped out in Glory, and met Mary of Bethany, who recognises Him finally, and He rapidly goes to the Sea of Galilee. What a journey that must have been!! He is now resurrected.

He has sent word to the disciples to meet Him at Galilee. He also calls to us today to meet with Him afresh. We shall see Him as He has become…risen Lord. He is Lord because He conquered death and sin. He is worthy of our worship and our gratitude, because He opened the way to eternal life and God Himself.

Maranatha!
