We are currently watching and more and more becoming not just emotionally involved in the Russia and Ukraine conflict but we are also being groomed in the “narrative ” war. Its not about who is right and wrong any more, it is who wins legitimacy through a narrative that wins over more minds than the narrative we want to win over. Its no longer about winning relationships than it is about winning the argument. So whilst we fight the narrative war lives are lost on both sides.

We are coming out of a 2 year narrative whether we like it or not. The image in my mind as I write this is of Prime Minister Boris Johnson sat at a desk telling us that the UK was entering into the first ever lockdown. To fight a common enemy called COVID19. We were taken over advantage of when the sickness we knew little of, was curtailing 90% of our freedoms. What was concluded about masks at the beginning was that they were not necessary to knee jerk policies till people were wearing them in cars and were required to wear in public places, even children in schools were required to wear them. The “3 weeks” to flatten the curve became 3 long lockdowns. One to save Christmas from November to 2nd December 2020 then to find that Christmas was cancelled. Then for almost 7 months of 2021 we were locked down. What is coming to light is that lockdowns as a policy only reduced the death toll 0.2% and that the official Office of National Statistics figure for a pure death rate from Covid with no co morbidities was 17 thousand.

Even Pfizer has resisted calls to publish their data from the side effects of vaccination against Covid shows a marked percentage of severe side effects and death. So much so that when the final data is analysed it will be a scandal of epic proportions. How many BBC Question Time debated over vaccination and about personal responsibilities were had?

The fact is we are being groomed into an official narrative! Groomed as a nation! How much we are told by the media is truth?

The fact is that the word TRUTH will get redefined. What is truth? Is personal truth really truth or a perception of external events or political ideologies? What makes the Bible true? My problem in all our theological debates on a Church level is summed up on a subjective level! That is my experience moulds my interpretation of Biblical theology rather than this be a small part of external and objective factors. This means that if I “experience” a Jesus that fits my ideas then how fast my ideas become a narrative and my narrative become a theology.

So where is this going? It is going to groom society to be more Anti-God and against the Church. Yes persecution is where this is going. It has always been the case that the persecuting empire falls and weakens. In the end God will bring in the fulness of His Kingdom and the New Earth and New Heaven.

What is needed more now is discernment . You cannot believe everything the media says. What is also needed is a demonstration that the Gospel is not just another narrative, rather it is demonstrated by signs. We need to pray as the Early Church prayed. In Acts 4. Our revival starts right there.
