The Difference between Ecumenism and Unity

This post comes on the back of one or two who were interpreting my “What we believe ” page to mean we need to agree with everything all denominations preach and stand for. That what we were promoting a man made ecumenical movement.

Ecumenical movement is man’s attempt at unity.

Ephesians 4:3 says that “diligently keeping a spirit of unity with the unifying purpose of being tied together with peace”.

Therefore unity can never be based on agreeing on doctrine or dogma.

It must come via the enabling of the Holy Spirit.

And what is the sign of that spirit of unity?

When we agree that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is our Saviour and Lord.

I think nothing else matters.

I do not and will not enter into doctrinal issues because on the basis of doctrine we will have never unity and the abuses and evils have been committed through doctrinal issues.

We are only trying to follow Yeshua of the Word and be guided by His Spirit.
