Just when you think the end has come, time to wrap up and something comes to enlighten you. This series has enlightened us to the Road that Jesus took to go from here, earth, to heaven and more specifically the Right Hand of the Father. It is a road where the Son of Man is a Lamb, sacrificed for our sins, then revealed to be the Son of God in the Resurrection. Then we are about to be transitioned to understand that He is being revealed as the Son of David. This is displayed in Revelation, last book of the Bible. We see John on a journey from his own persecution is presented with the open door into the realms of Heaven to understand the history, the present and the future from heaven’s perspective, and centrally from the perspective of the Throne, which is presented in chapter 4, after discharging his own earthly apostleship.
The first line of Revelation reads…
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John
The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version. (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009), Re 1:1.
Jesus not only is revealed, but He Himself reveals to those who He calls to be servants, by virtue of the Marturia, of Acts 1:8. Today the Church is talking about various revelations but here there is a new standard. The new standard in testing revelation must pass by the contents, does it reveal Jesus, His Person, His Power, His Purpose?
I would surmise knowing a little of how He reveals to me personally, that in large proportions we have lost the true revelation due to our preoccupation on our identity. Yet the programme of the Father is to reveal Jesus…to those who have passed the servanthood tests.
What are the things that will come to pass? What is the running theme in all the struggle that comes upon the earth? Who is King and who reigns.
I believe the quality and longevity, the steadfastness of our vision comes from the sum total of what is the ultimate revelation. It is not the revelation of ourselves, yet Scripture says; the earth groans for the revelation of the sons of God….yet without the revelation of the Son of God, the sons cannot be revealed. The Road to the Right Hand is not about revealing what Jesus did, rather who He is.
Our identity is locked into this process. We shall sit with Him at the Right Hand. We shall be like Him. Yet He remains the central focus. Any other focus will cause us to enter the “church business” that God has called time on. What comes to pass is to defeat the false thrones, depose those who rage at the Lord and His Anointed, Psalm 2. This whole process, in establishing REIGN is the sole purpose of God the Father. The Holy Spirit flows to confirm with signs and wonders this wonderful process. Acts 4 describes how the persecuted Early Church access this way to power by understanding that whilst the sanhedrin and Rome were to impose their will on the Church, it will be the power of the Holy Spirit which shall cause them to prevail.
Rome tried to dominate for 200 years, and eventually had to surrender, and in the surrender the foundation of the Roman Empire, to dominate crumbled.
At times and at various seasons kingdoms sought to dominate the people of God with persecution but the Holy Spirit was always flowing to cause His people to Prevail.
In the days ahead, what will count to our steadfastness and strength will not be our gifts, our knowledge or our wealth, it will be our immersion into the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
We started this journey on the Mount of Transfiguration, when the Father declares…This is my Son…
He must declare this through His Church, but He cannot fully until the Holy Spirit gives each believer the full measure of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
What revelation are you living by?
Maranatha!!!
