We are celebrating Pentecost and what it represents. I believe the Bible gives clear indication as to the connection between the deluge of power and signs that came with the Holy Spirit and King Jesus is plain to who is immersed in the dimension that the Spirit brought with Him.
Peter Stood up
Acts 2 tells us that as the languages proclaimed the Gospel to the nations of the known world. Peter saw it was necessary to stand up and what came in His Message was pure revelation. It was like Peter had Stood up in a spiritual dimension that was heavy and was full of eternal wisdom. As he stood up he stepped into the purpose God had for Him
This Jesus
Jesus was still remembered by all those who gathered below the Upper Room. Now Peter presented Jesus in a dimension full of royal insight and full of boldness in He who was not just a Saviour but also a King.
Whom you Crucified God exalted Him to the Highest place
Jesus’ own sought to humiliate Him but as they did God the Father exalted Him. Only the humiliation and repentance would erase their guilt.
He has poured out this which you see and hear
The fire and wind were still visible, and Peter connected Jesus’ Right Hand position meant that the Holy Spirit had come to put the enemies under His Feet. He would do this in and through His Church. And because Jesus is until this moment is at the Right Hand, more Outpourings will come. Its directly connected. The Spirit comes to confirm Jesus’ Kingship.
