“Why do you search for the living amongst the dead?”
This question by the angels is very relevant. In that Christ’s resurrection represents the impossible to bring back from death that which once lived.
We gloss over this issue in the sense that we do not stop to consider the wounds Jesus received over a 24hour period that led to death, the blood that was spilt. Mel Gibson captured this flogging in graphic detail in his film “the Passion” that we conveniently block out the horror of the event.
Think of the way the body taken down from the Cross and the way it had to be embalmed. John 20 tells us there were 4 wounds referenced, hands and feet and side that even were visible.
It is symbolic of how our trauma, death type situations still are visible when Christ’s power comes to raise us, to remind us, if it were not for Him we would be still in all kinds of trauma.
Is this not a motive to remain humble and thankful that He raised us up with Him.

Maranatha!
