Christ in the participation of His Coming 5: Now let your servant depart in peace

These are the final words in the Bible attributed to Simeon. In recognising Christ in a baby, Simeon now knows his time and his task was over. This marks a generational change.

The mistake is not recognising your season, and not recognising when a spiritual generation has completed its task. Simeon’s last words are the sum total of his preparation for this day, and the Holy Spirit makes sure he completes what God had given him to do.

If we try to insist on our position, insist on a longevity that God did not determine it is obvious that we will develop arrogance and delusion. Leaders and ministers must recognise this especially now. What I am writing now is on the eve of the passing of one year to another, and what seems to be on the horizon is very corrupt and evil leaders globally, and it will need a new generation to deal with this.

We meet this kind of leadership in 1Kings 17, when Ahab comes to the throne of the kingdom of Israel, divided by Jeroboam from Judah. Ahab had married the most wicked of people. He in his own right is the most evil king of this corrupt line. Elijah is raised up and his first act of ministry is to close down the economy. This confrontation of closing heaven physically and spiritually brought the kingdom to its knees. What we know is that there is a “kingdom in the shadows” that seeks to enslave, control, and it is a prophetic generation that will need in a similar way bring this “kingdom” down. This will require a different spiritual generation of ministry.

“It is necessary that He increases and I decrease” are the words of John the Baptist, who knew that when the Messiah appeared his time was ending. His task was done. God is calling a generation home, and it is to that generation that they recognise their task has finished so that their disobedience, or arrogance does not stand in the way of this up and coming generation. Either they bow out in grace or are brought to an end in disgrace.

The usual way of doing things must end, the usual way of preaching and praying must now be rethought. Kingdom financing will have to change now government will be able to control spending through the introduction of Digital currency. The changes are coming fast and the generations must change. It takes discernment to know our season is up, and humility to hand to a new generation the task.

Simeon and Anna knew when Jesus entered the scene it was done their task. They knew how to wait for their Lord to call. So it is now a time of being positioned, to enter the scene, or gracefully exit with a legacy.

They that depart shall enter their peace, those that enter shall enter their power. So in this transition of years may we discern our place.

Maranatha! Jesus come quickly.
