We concentrate on the final scene today. Jesus crucified. There is a long road to these events from being captured in Gethsemane by the betrayal of Judas, the hearings with the Sanhedrin, being taken to be interrogated by Herod, then back to the Sanhedrin. Then to Pilate. There religious and political authorities united to kill the Son of God.
There was then the flogging of Christ as depicted by the film, the Passion by Mel Gibson. After such a punishing process He is led up to Golgotha bleeding and weakened this long road.
Such a cruel and extreme punishment reminds us how far we have fallen, how far we have strayed.
I believe no other event in history has impacted so much as this.
It represents our life and it’s trials. It represents the depths and lengths that God went to to save mankind.

The culmination of this produced a storm, and earthquake and an opening of tombs and old saints walked out into life again.
There is a moment in all this bloodshed and loss of life that Satan understood
Satan who inspired betrayal, flogging, ridicule perceived that he had played a necessary part in the plan of eternal Salvation, look at the clip above in the Passion.
The scene is horrific but the effects are eternal.
May we reflect on these events giving thanks for so great a Salvation at such a great cost.
Maranatha!
