Dimension of Faith part 10: a father is tried

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,  By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. Hebrews 11:17‭, ‬23 KJV Right now writing this in hospital as my daughter is in hospital undergoing transplant surgery. A kidney has come available. I feel a bit like Abraham that I am being tried as my daughter Nisia is “on the altar” on a surgery … Continue reading Dimension of Faith part 10: a father is tried

Reflections of a Brit to the world

This morning is just like the normal Saturday morning where the sun tried feebly to penetrate the grey British clouds. Other clouds temporarily were out of my mind as I roused myself from the slumber of the consciousness that yet again the different pace of the weekend was evident from the open window portraying the lack of the sound of passing cars.  Then as I washed and got ready flooded in the realisation that the majority of voters had rejected the proposal to continue in the European Union. This post is not to approach yet again the issues as I … Continue reading Reflections of a Brit to the world

The Dimension of Faith Part 9: Now they desire a better country, that is heavenly

I am writing on the back of the UK referendum on the EU. The vote went unexpectedly for a renunciation of the membership of the EU. We turn our attention to Hebrews 11 again, which ties into the result of the Referendum. I have a personal perspective but I will base this on the Biblical challenge of the result. Heb 11:16 16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. NKJV The main reason for the vote was the aspiration that Great Britain could be Great again. But this will not happen unless what we desire first … Continue reading The Dimension of Faith Part 9: Now they desire a better country, that is heavenly

And now for something different…

We are taking a short interlude from our series on Dimension of Faith. In two days time we go to vote in a Referendum. I was in part inspired by Bob Hyde’s new blog http://thebobosphere.wordpress.com  which has an interesting letter to his grandson about the EU referendum question and vote.  I felt it was singularly informative. I got to think about this, not that I have not thought or conversed about it so often. We Brits are quite passionate about our heritage and identity. However I began to ask God about this Referendum and came back with something totally different. … Continue reading And now for something different…

I am writing this personal message to thank all those who write and give feedback to the messages I publish here.  This feedback is not just superficial “thanks for the message” but dialogue about the Revelation God gives through His Word. Some send PayPal gifts to us. We are very grateful for this feedback as this shows Kingdom advancement.  However we do not take a salary from the ministry as this Ministry does not get the support we need each month. This does not mean that this Ministry is not blessed.  God sends our support as and when we need … Continue reading Personal

The Faith Dimension part 8: Seeking a country is seeking God

For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.  And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. Hebrews11.14-15.KJV What are we saying? What are we projecting by the conversation that motivates us each day. Today I got up early. Saturday 5.50am. The request for company and conversation from my lovely wife helped the tiredness ebb away. Our conversation was peppered with life’s learning.  So much happens to teach. Over coffee the obvious signs of our learning through the daily interaction with … Continue reading The Faith Dimension part 8: Seeking a country is seeking God

The Dimension of faith Part 7: Died not receiving the promises.

Heb 11:13-14 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. NKJV Right now we have been living with the challenge of praying for the people of God and especially those who have faced very difficult health issues, and some reading this maybe are going through one of these trials of their own. Right now we had a loss, in which a Brazilian youth, Matheus died and went to be with the Lord. It was not … Continue reading The Dimension of faith Part 7: Died not receiving the promises.
