Falling short; falling down and falling away

Hebrews 4 tells us about the dangers of falling short. Verse 1 tells us about our unbelief even when God gives us miracles and guidance.

I see 3 dangers
1. Falling short: sin (Romans 6:23)
2. Falling Down: Iniquity (Jude)
3. Falling Away: Apostasy (Hebrews 6)

3 falls of our day can affect any one of us.

We can fall short in spite of the evidences to refuse to believe. Unbelief is not the same as doubt. Unbelief is a conscious decision to discard a faith issue based on our natural inclinations based on our senses.

Once we fall short we can certainly fall from grace. That is we do not qualify any more for grace’s operation because we do not walk in the faith of that grace to sustain us and cause us to walk. And as a result we reject Christ altogether having the operation of Christ’s grace withdrawn because we no longer walk in faith.

Let us hold fast to His Word.

Shalom.
